In 1969 Graham was promoted to a managerial position and moved to Melton Mowbray to run the local branch. After 7 years, he took the plunge and established his own practice on Burton Street in 1976.
Gill Langrick graduated from the University of Manchester in 1978. She spent her pre-registration year with Dolland and Aitchinson, before working part-time for Graham in 1980. In 1988, Graham and Gill decided to establish Langrick and Coe, a new practice on High Street in Oakham. Gill's special interests include eyecare for children and the elderly.
Hilary Coe qualified as a Dispensing Optician in 1996 from City and Islington College, London. Her pre-registration year was spent at Kemps Optical in Manchester, where her brother Martin was also working part-time while at University. Martin Coe completed a Life Sciences degree before deciding to move into Optometry. He studied at the University of Manchester Institute of Science and Technology from where he graduated in 1997 with a degree in Optometry and Visual Sciences. The following pre-registration year was spent with The Eye Clinic in Manchester where he stayed for several years, working mainly in Manchester and Nottingham. Here he became very involved with contact lenses and interested in the application of new technology to eyecare. In 2001 Martin wrote the winning entry for The Optician Eyecare Award for Use of Technology in Practice. In 2001, wanting to move away from the conveyor belt mentality of the larger companies, Martin joined the practice where he could have the freedom to work to his own high standards of patient care. Martin has completed post-graduate certificates in Glaucoma Shared Care and Ocular Therapeutics and is currently studying part-time for an MSc at City University.
